Article tone -- inappropriate?

What's the standard for "tone" in SciFiPedia? Over in Wikipedia, there are rules against writing articles in the first person ("I, we") because it's considered "non-encyclopedic," and I'm thinking of taking a crack at rewriting this article. (To be honest, what SciFiPedia might need, in place of this article, is one that covers fan-slang in general... terms like "Shipper" are not unique to X-Philes.) P.S.
