Tahmoh Penikett, who plays Lt. Karl C. Agathon on The SCI FI Channel TV series Battlestar Galactica, is a relative newcomer to film and television. In 2003, he was cast as Detective Ray Chase during the final season of the critically acclaimed Canadian TV series Cold Squad. His performance on that series earned him a LEO Award nomination.

His guest appearances on television include such hit series as Smallville, The L Word, Dark Angel, Glory Days, and the SCI FI Original Miniseries Event Steven Spielberg Presents Taken. Penikett also has appeared in numerous independent films.

In 2008, he appeared in the horror film Trick 'r Treat and is expected to appear in Joss Whedon's Dollhouse which will debut on Fox in fall 2008.

Penikett's background includes strong ties to the Upper Tanana Tribe of Alaska; he attributes their oral traditions for his love of storytelling. When not in front of the camera, he enjoys a variety of athletic pursuits, including competitive kickboxing.
