Plot

Spoiler Warning: Plot details and/or information about the ending follow. If you wish to enjoy the work first, stop reading here and return at another time.

Sheppard's team comes under attack while on an off world mission and McKay is hit by a Wraith stunner. Fortunately he recovers. The team is debriefed by Dr. Weir and Atlantis security officer, Sgt. Bates. Sheppard is surprised that Teyla has been excluded from their meeting.

Bates reveals suspicions that there is a spy in their midst, likely one of the Athosians. Teyla becomes upset when she discovers why she was excluded and insists no Athosian would betray them. To make sure, Weir and Bates begin to interview the Athosians.

Halling and the others are offended that they are being accused as they have lived in fear of the Wraith for generations and none would help them. Also, they've done nothing but try to aid their new allies.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mckay and Dr. Zelenka study the Puddle jumpers' systems. They accidentally trigger a command which in turn causes the roof of the puddle jumper bay to open up. Sheppard and Ford decide to explore the planet in one of the ships and discovers a large continent.

At the news of the discovery of land, Weir considers relocating the Athosians there. To her surprise, Halling agrees. Should the attacks on the offworld teams continue, following their relocation, the Athosians will be vindicated. Teyla however, decides to remain but wonders if being separated from her people is the right thing.

Following the relocation of the Athosians, Sheppard and his team go off world to explore. Teyla warns that the locals are shy and likely hid when the gate was activated. She suggests she go ahead alone to reassure them. Sheppard sends Ford with her. Ford agrees to let he go on her own.

Shortly after, Wraith emerge from the forest and attack. Ford is knocked unconscious. The team retreats toward the gate and manage to escape but on their return to Atlantis, Teyla is taken into custody by Bates.

Bates has Teyla's things searched. Dr. McKay examines them and discovers a necklace containing a Wraith transmitter. It's the necklace Sheppard discovered in the Athosian caves and returned to Teyla. The transmitter was designed by the Wraith to be activated by Ancients. As John possesses the ATA gene, the device became active when he touched it.

Sheppard devises a plan to set a trap for the Wraith using the necklace. They visit a planet and manage to subdue a Wraith soldier using tasers. The soldier activates a self destruct mechanism rather than be taken alive. They successfully capture his leader and using one of the Wraith weapons, stuns him. They take him back to Atlantis and lock him in a cell. The Wraith informs them that be holding him captive, they only hasten their own demise.
