Supergirl is a 1984 film directed by Jeannot Szwarc and written by David Oddell based on the character created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino. Helen Slater played Kara-El, Superman's cousin. Kara arrives on Earth to retrieve an orb, the Omegahedron, a necessary power source for a community of survivors from Krypton. When Kara arrives on Earth, she gains powers like Superman's and must fight against an evil witch who has taken the orb for herself to fuel her rise to power.
