Sun Boy is fictional comic book character who is a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes published by DC Comics.

About a thousand years from now, Dirk Morgna worked in a research reactor plant run by his father Derek. Dr. Zaxton Regulus, also working there, caused an accident that killed a plant worker and injured Dirk. Derek Morgna fired Dr. Regulus, who did not take it well. Seeking revenge, he snuck back into the plant and had his robots beat Dirk senseless and throw him into the reactor unprotected. Instead of killing him, the radiation gave Dirk his super-power.

Dirk has total control over his powers. He can release enough energy to light up a room or to melt the walls of the room.

Dirk has reputation as quite a ladies man, and has dated some of the most desirable young single women in Metropolis.
