Strange World

Strange World was a short-lived 1999 television series created by The X-Files write Howard Gordon and Tim Kring. The series starred Tim Guinee as Captain Paul Turner, a doctor working for the The United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases who contracted aplastic anemia as a result of being exposed to chemical weapons during the Gulf War. Turner is drafted by his former employers to help take down individuals participating in unethical use of science and technology. Turner is saved from his disease by a mysterious woman (Vivian Wu) who may be working for an opposing organization. Unfortunately, the cure is not permanent and requires periodic doses for continued health which enables the mystery organization to control him. the series aired only four episodes before being canceled. Having prior knowledge of the show's pending cancellation, the main character was killed and the storyline concluded in the final episode.
