Stan Lee (b. born December 28, 1922, in New York City, New York) is considered one of the great comic book creators of the 20th century. With various artists, he created the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, Daredevil, Thor, the X-Men, the Avengers, and others, all part of the original superhero line known as Marvel Comics.
Lee, in partnership with the SCI FI Channel and Nash Entertainment, produces Who Wants to Be a Superhero?, an hour-long weekly competition reality series that challenges a lucky few to create their own superhero.
From thousands of hopefuls, Stan Lee chooses eleven contestants, each with an original idea for a superhero. Under Lee's watchful supervision, their mettle is tested as they do what it takes to prove that they truly are super.
At the end of the season, only one aspiring superhero will prove to possess the inner strength and spirit to achieve victory and be immortalized in a new comic book created by Stan Lee himself.
