Spy fi is a sub-genre of speculative fiction that includes action films, thrillers or mysteries that involve an element of the supernatural or futuristic gadgets and gizmos.
This genre saw its birth with the James Bond films of the 1960s and 1970s, which featured lasers, space ships and submarine cars. A more recent example of spy fi was the ABC television series, Alias.
The largest archive and museum of spy fi memorabilia was held by the U.S. government in the by the CIA as the Spy - Fi Archives in 2001.
