Spirit

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

A spirit as an entity may be a ghost, demon, angel, soul, fairy, sprite, Shadow Creature, or elf. [1]

Some people also use spirit in a more narrow definition as an incorporeal (bodiless) being. In this usage a ghost would be considered a spirit, but an elf, Sprite, Fairy, or Shadow Creature would not. In traditional use, a living person would have a spirit, but a corpse should not still have one.
