Species is a 1995 horror film directed by Roger Donaldson and written by Dennis Feldman. The film produced three sequels.

Synopsis

After decades of scanning space for signs of extraterrestrial intelligence, Earth finally receives a response. In 1974, a signal is picked up and it contains a message revealing how to bind human and alien DNA to create a new creature. A project is started to carry out the alien plan and it results in a girl they call Sil. When Sil realizes they intend to end the project and kill her, she escapes the facility where she was created and tries to act on her biological urge to procreate.
