Space Park is a fictional spaceship on the reimagined Battlestar Galactica.

Description

This early luxury-liner design was so successful that it was also adapted for scientific and military uses by replacing passenger accommodations with laboratories, auxiliary power generators, and computer cores. Though it is sophisticated enough to make hyperspace jumps and has a moderately long operating range ("good legs," in Colonial pilots' parlance), its enormous ring section was designed in the days when artificial gravity was prohibitively expensive on such a massive scale. This capability was later retrofitted into some space-park vessels, eliminating the need for their rings to rotate in order to maintain a 1 "g" environment; some modified craft retain the feature, however, for aesthetic reasons.

  • Fast: Can sustain a moderate cruising velocity, relative to the Galactica.
  • Spacious: Ring is tall enough to contain a four-story building.
