Sophia Myles (b. March 18, 1980, London, England, UK) is an English actor born to Peter and Jane Myles. She has one elder brother, Oliver. Myles may be best remembered for the role as Isolde in the romance Tristan & Isolde and her roles in Underworld and its sequel Underworld: Evolution as Erika.
Myles grew up in Notting Hill and later Isleworth. She began acting in school productions and her appearance in a production of Teachers prompted Julian Fellowes, author of Gosford Park, to cast her in a BBC production of The Prince & The Pauper. She later appeared in the miniseries Big Women. She enrolled in Cambridge University to study philosophy but after landing roles in Mansfield Park' and Oliver Twist, she left school to pursue an acting career.
Her role in Underworld was her introduction to international audiences. She followed up with Out of Bounds and Thunderbirds and also made a guest appearance in the Doctor Who episode "The Girl in the Fireplace" as Reinette (which sparked a relationship with Who star David Tennant). Vampires appear to be a recurring theme in her career. In 2006 she appeared in the movie Dracula as Lucy Westenra and will appear in the CBS vampire drama Moonlight in 2007. She is also slated to appear in the scifi feature Outlander and Buddha's Little Finger.
