Slipstream is a 1989 sci fi thriller set in a dystopian future where pollution has wreaked havoc on the planet. Deadly winds known as slipstreams roam the planet and humanity lives in small communities within canyons. Adventurer Matt Owens kidnaps a fugitive, Byron (Bob Peck) from officer Will Tasker (Mark Hamill) to claim the bounty himself. Matt (Bill Paxton) soon discovers Byron is actually an android who murdered his creator. They form a friendship and travel to the various communities that struggle to live in a world ruled by the slipstream.
