Sleestak

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Sleestak are humanoid creatures that inhabit the fictional world setting of the 1970s TV series, Land of the Lost. They are the savage descendants of the kinder Altrusian, an ancient and highly intelligent and benevolent race.

In appearance a Sleestak looks like a typical lizard man with the exception of some features that are more akin to an insectoid or crustaceoid. For instance, like a lizard, the Sleestak is apparently cold-blooded and has scaly green skin.

But its big black, lidless bug-eyes are more insect in nature. And like a crustacean, the Sleestak have pinchers for hands and frills on their necks that resemble gill slits.

Although less intelligent than an Altrusian, the Sleestak are able to make use such technology as weapons such as crossbows.

Popular Culture

  • The 2005 series Surface referred to a creature as a Sleestak
