Simon Clark

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Simon Clark (b. April 20, 1958) was born in Wakefield, England, and currently lives in Doncaster with his wife and children. He attended Whitwood Technical College where he learned what he considers one of his most useful skills, touch-typing. He began writing for small press magazines before his first novel, Nailed by the Heart, made it through the slush pile in 1994. With the advance safely banked, he became a full-time writer. His subsequent novels include Blood Crazy, Darker, King Blood, Vampyrrhic, The Fall, Judas Tree, Stranger, Vampyrrhic Rites, Darkness Demands, In This Skin and The Night of the Triffids, which continues the story of John Wyndham’s classic dystopian novel The Day of the Triffids. His revival of the ambulatory Triffid plants won the British Fantasy Society’s August Derleth Award for Best Novel in 2002. His short stories have been collected in Blood and Grit and Salt Snake and, since making his first professional sale to local radio, Clark has also created and co-presented the series Winter Chills for BBC regional television. His latest book is another short story collection, Hotel Midnight.
