Shia Saide LaBeouf (born June 11, 1986, in Los Angeles, California) is an Emmy Award-winning American actor. Son of professional clown Jeffrey LaBeouf and jewelry designer Shayna Saide, he was raised in Echo Park, LA. LaBeouf attended the 32nd Street Visual and Performing Arts Magnet school and Alexander Hamilton High School. He began acting as a child, performing stand-up comedy on stage at ten. He landed himself an agent and began working in television, taking a wide turn away from his potty-mouth stage performances to appear in the Disney Channel show Even Stevens.
Adult audiences got to know LaBeouf when he appeared on the reality TV series Project Greenlight. His breakout role came in 2003's Holes. His performance earned him positive remarks from critics and comparisons to Tom Hanks. He increased his profile in The Battle of Shaker Heights and hit films like Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, I, Robot, Constantine, and his starring role in the thriller, Disturbia. In 2007, he appeared in the film Transformers which proved to be a hit with audiences and won approval from critics as well. Though the Yale School of Drama department is very interested in having LaBeouf join them, he has delayed college to appear in the fourth Indiana Jones film. He will also appear in the thriller Eagle Eye in 2008.
