Sha're or Shau'ri is a fictional character in the series Stargate SG-1. The character Shau'ri originated in the Stargate movie and was played by Mili Avital. The role of the character, renamed, Sha're in the TV Series, was filled by Vaitiare Bandera.
When a team from Earth visited the planet Abydos they came across a simple human civilization similar to that of the ancient Egyptians. The local leader, Kasuf offered his daughter, Shau'ri to archaeologist Daniel Jackson for his wife. Daniel was reluctant to take advantage but the two fell in love and he and Sha'uri spent a year living together on Abydos.
A year later, Sha're was kidnapped by Jaffa loyal to the goa'uld System lord Apophis. She was chosen by the goa'uld Amonet to be her host and became Apophis' queen. Daniel joined the Stargate program with the hope of finding Sha're and her younger brother Skaara who was also taken as host for Apophis' son Klorel.
Daniel searched for his wife for a year before finding her on his promised return to Abydos a year from the day he left. She was pregnant with Apophis' child and her goa'uld symbiote remained dormant in order to prevent miscarriage. Daniel was unable to spend much time with Sha're as she soon went into labor and he helped deliver a baby boy, Shi'fu a harcesis born with the genetic memory of the goa'uld. Amonet returned and took over Sha're's body and Daniel lost her once again.
Daniel searched for his wife once again and eventually found her on Abydos once again. Amonet tried to kill him using the goa'uld hand device and Teal'c shot her with his staff weapon to save Daniel's life. Even while Amonet tried to kill Daniel, Sha're found a way to communicate with him, telling him to find her son. Daniel eventually found Shi'fu under the protection of the Ascended Ancient Oma Desala who proved to be the best guardian for him.
