Character History

Born Annika Hansen to human parents Magnus and Erin Hansen, Seven was assimilated by the Borg at age 6 after her parents' research into the Borg ended in the family's assimilation by their subject of study. Raised by the Borg, Seven lost her humanity.

She was dispatched to the USS Voyager after the Borg suffered severe losses in their battles against an alien race known to them as Species 8472. The crew of Voyager developed a means to fight the creatures and offered it to the Borg in exchange for safe travel through their space. The Borg offered Seven's aid in the development of the technology but the Borg vessel Seven belonged to was destroyed by Species 8472 and Seven transported to Voyager to save their research. She lost contact with the collective and against her will, many of her Borg implants were removed to save her life and return her humanity.

Though initially uncooperative and distrustful, under the tutelage of Captain Kathryn Janeway and The Doctor Seven eventually became an important part of the crew and grew into her humanity. Toward the end of the series she became involved with Chakotay.

It's usually best to give a very general overview to a story first, then plot details. When including the plot or essential details in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
