Thomas Sean Connery (b. August 25, 1930, Edinburgh, Scotland) is an Academy Award-winning Scottish actor best known as the first actor to play James Bond (in the movies) beginning with the 1962 film Dr. No. Connery has also appeared in several other genre films. He portrayed Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez in the Highlander film series, voiced a dragon in Dragonheart, played a villain in The Avengers and Allan Quatermain in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Connery won an Oscar in 1988 for his supporting role in The Untouchables.
Other genre roles include: Zed, the enforcer in Zardoz; O'Bannon in Tarzan's Great Adventure; and O'Niel in Outland.
