SeaQuest DSV

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

seaQuest DSV was a 1993 TV series created by Rockne S. O'Bannon. It was produced by Amblin Entertainment and Universal TV and was largely filmed in Florida at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. It originally aired on NBC and was executive produced by Steven Spielberg whose interest helped the show make it to the screen. The series underwent several changes including a change in name to seaQuest 2032 in the third season. In the second season there were several cast changes and additions and the show took on a new direction. The third season, seaQuest 2032, brought about even more changes but was cancelled after thirteen episodes.

First Season Narration: "The 21st century: mankind has colonized the last unexplored region on Earth; the ocean. As captain of the seaQuest and its crew, we are its guardians. For beneath the surface lies the future."

Plot

The series began in the year 2018 when Earth's Oceans have been colonized following the depletion of natural resources on land. The UEO (United Earth Oceans Organization) is a military organization whose job is to police Earth's oceans. Nathan Bridger, former member of the UEO is convinced to return to duty when the UEO vessel, a high tech sub known as seaQuest DSV 4600 is threatened by hijackers. He becomes captain of the vessel and its crew with the task of protecting the ocean colonies from rogue nations and pirates.

It's usually best to give a very general overview to a story first, then plot details. When including the plot or essential details in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
