Scorpius is a fictional character on the series Farscape, played by Wayne Pygram. He is a Scarran-Sebacean hybrid. Scorpius is the result of an experiment in which his Sebacean mother was raped by a Scarran in an attempt to uncover any possible benefits to a hybrid. Scorpius was raised among Scarrans but hates them.
Of high ranking among Peacekeeper military forces, he is an officer obsessed with wormholes. After discovering what knowledge John Crichton holds, he becomes Crichton's worst enemy, chasing him across the universe...
History
Scorpius was raised on a Scarran Dreadnought where a Scarran female used brutal methods to strengthen him. She informed him that he was the result of a Sebacean rape of a Scarran female and repeatedly informed him of how weak Sebaceans were and encouraged him to make efforts to overcome his weaker half. Once strong enough, he managed to escape and sought out the Peacekeepers who informed him of the truth. His mother was among Sebaceans who sought a new home in the uncharted territories. His mother was taken captive and raped by a Sebacean male in an experiment to discover if there was any value in a hybrid species. They determined that Sebaceans were weak and offered no genetic benefits.
Scorpius returned to the planet where his mother's transport vessel had been abandoned and was recaptured by his Scarran captor. He managed to escape and offered his services to the Peacekeepers.
Physical Features
Scorpius suffers the result of two warring internal forces. Like Sebaceans, he is highly sensitive to heat which his Scarran half produces in great quantities. In order to balance the issue he must insert cooling rods into his brain and wear a special suit to dissipate heat. The rods must be replaced periodically when they become spent and he requires help to do so.
