Science fantasy is a sub-genre of crossover of fantasy and science fiction where the story elements contain scenarios that are not scientifically sound and seem to rely upon some kind of magical or supernatural force instead of physics. But here, the incantations of traditional magic are replaced with the trappings of technology and science.

Prominent science fantasy works include the Star Wars movies, the Farscape television series and the Darkover series of books.
