Sci-fi Overdrive premiered on the Business Talk Radio Network (BTRN) in March of 2003, featuring news and interviews with those in the entertainment industry pertaining to science fiction and related genres (fantasy, comics, collectibles, role-playing games and Japanese animation). It currently is broadcast on both BTRN and its sister network, the Lifestyle Talk Radio Network.
Among previous guests of "Sci-fi Overdrive" include author Ray Bradbury, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and actors Mark Hamill and Leonard Nimoy.
The show was created and produced as the brainchild of Joey Reynolds (hosting the program as Joey Donovan) and co-produced mainly by David Durica. Reynolds left the show in May of 2006, citing his want to take a break after producing this program and a local version of it since 2001. Durica is still host/producer, along with Mariah Martir.
