Scatman Crothers (May 23, 1910 Terra Haute, Indiana - November 22, 1986) was an American actor, singer and voice artist.
With a distinctly textured voice, Crothers was well known as a singer.
Probably his best known on-screen genre role is Dick Hallorann in Stanley Kubrick's version of Stephen King's The Shining (1980).
He did quite a bit of voicework, notably starring as "Hong Kong Phooey".
