Scarrans are an alien race on the series Farscape. They possess a striking appearance, tall, with large heads and extremely high body temperatures. They are able to project heat from their bodies in order to torture and extract truth from their enemies and even kill. They are also physically powerful with skin thick enough to make them hard to harm or kill.

The Scarrans are a technologically advanced race. They are able to create delusions as a means of extracting information. The method drives their subject to the point of mental collapse to eliminate resistance to questioning.

They also possess vast ships that outclass Peacekeeper Command Carriers in size. They are the Peacekeeper's most dangerous enemy and the two opposing forces maintain a tentative balance of power though each side continuously looks for a means to gain the advantage. Both raced towards the development of wormhole technology that could be used as a weapon.
