Sarah Jessica Parker (b. March 25, 1965, Nelsonville, Ohio) is a Golden Globe-winning American actress, best known for her starring role in the HBO series Sex and the City. Parker was born to Stephen Parker and Barbra Forster. She has seven siblings. Parker studied vocal performance and ballet as a child and made her Broadway debut appearing in The Innocents. She studied at the American Ballet School and the Professional Children's School and, along with four of her siblings, was cast in The Sound of Music and later Annie.
She made her television debut in The Little Match Girl and her genre debut in the 1983 fantasy Somewhere, Tomorrow. Parker's genre appearances have been few though she made contributions in Hocus Pocus, and Mars Attacks!. She is better known for her roles in Equal Justice, Honeymoon in Vegas, The First Wives Club, and The Family Stone.
