Sarah Addison Allen is an American author born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina. Allen has a BA in literature and published her first book, the romantic comedy, Tried and True, written as Katie Gallagher and published by Harlequin Duets. The debut earned her a nomination for Best First Book and Best Duets of 2003 from The Romantic Times. Allen made her mainstream debut with Garden Spells, a magical fantasy influenced by Southern traditions.
