Santiago Cabrera is an actor born in Caracas, Venezuela on May 5, 1978. He spent his childhood travelling the world from London and Romania to Toronto and Madrid. He considers Santiago, Chile, the home of his diplomat father to be his true home. He intended to become a soccer player and won a scholarship playing the sport in Chile. He also played in London.
He switched gears and turned to acting. He studied for three years at the Drama Centre London and appeared on stage in The Last Days of Don Juan, The Strangeness of Others and Britannicus. He has also performed at the Northampton Theatre Royal and the Greenwich Theatre.
He took his skills to the TV screen appearing in Spooks and Judge John Heed. His breakout role came in the ABC miniseries, Empire as the Roman emperor, Octavius. He also appeared in the Chilean film Caleuche: The Call of the Sea, Haven and Love and Other Disasters before joining the cast of the NBC series Heroes. In Heroes he plays Isaac Mendez, a heroin-addicted artist who realizes his paintings depict the future. In 2007, he'll appear in the soccer films Goal! 2: Living the Dream and Goal! 3.
