Samuel "Sam" Stewart Witwer (b. October 20, 1977) is an American actor who may be best known for his role as Crashdown on the reimagined series Battlestar Galactica. Witwer grew up in Illinois and attended Glenbrook South High School. He became involved in drama and theater in high school and attended the Julliard School of Drama. His earliest roles include guest appearances on the medical drama ER, Arli$$, Dark Angel, Angel and Star Trek: Enterprise. Other notable appearances include the fan series Star Trek: New Voyages, Bones, the Stephen King movie adaptation The Mist, and Pathology.
