How do I restore an article that's been inappropriately altered?
Select the History tab on an article and you'll see a listing with the current version first, followed by previous versions along with the date and time the version was saved and who made the changes.
Next to each listing are "cur" and "ver". "cur" will compare the version from that line entry with the current version in SCIFIPEDIA. "ver" will compare that line's version with the version previous to it.
Also in each line is a radio button. You can use the radio button to select one or more versions for comparison, then compare them by clicking the "Compare Selected Versions" button.
How do I restore an article that's been inappropriately altered?
Using the History tab on the article, you'll get a handy way to compare past versions with the current one, see who made which revions, etc. There is a column with the date of each version listed. Click that will load the article as it looked at that time. From there, select the Edit tab and it will load that version ready to edit. Once there, click Save and the version you're looking at will over-write the current version.
As always, make sure there's consensus in the Discussion section of the article between contributors before making sweeping changes. If the consensus is that the article is for some reason being continually defaced, [contact the Editor] and petition for a resolution. This may involve locking (protecting) the article and/or banning any troublesome users, so reserve this as a last step. Usually the efforts of the community to keep an article free of grafiti and up to date are sufficient to dissuade pranksters.
