Should I fill in my real name?You should if you would like to be properly credited for standing work in SCIFIPEDIA. See the corresponding User Preferences section, located under the "User Data" section on the Special:Preferences page.
Should I fill in a nickname?If you so desire. It is not required. See the corresponding User Preferences section, located under the "User Data" section on the Special:Preferences page.
Can I choose another language?At this time SCIFIPEDIA only supports (US) English. See the corresponding User Preferences section, located under the "User Data" section on the Special:Preferences page.

Can I receive an e-mail notifying me of page changes?Yes, on pages you've designated "Watch." See the corresponding User Preferences section, located under the "User Data" section on the Special:Preferences page.
Can I receive an e-mail notifying me of changes to my User Talk Page?Yes. See the corresponding User Preferences section, located under the "User Data" section on the Special:Preferences page.
Can I receive an e-mail when there are minor edits to pages?Yes. See the corresponding User Preferences section, located under the "User Data" section on the Special:Preferences page.
Can I disable e-mail from other users?Yes, within the wiki environment of SCIFIPEDIA. SCIFIPEDIA cannot prevent you from receiveing e-mails outside the wiki. See the corresponding User Preferences section, located under the "User Data" section on the Special:Preferences page.
Why can't I choose a skin?Because of the nature of SCIFIPEDIA, which accommodates and encourages voluntary contributions from all but which is also, at the same time, a commercial site, complete with advertising, it is necessary to limit the look of the pages to one overall design.
Can I limit the size of images on the Image Description Pages?Yes. There is a drop-menu from which you may pick size proportions up to 600 pixels by 450 pixels. See the corresponding User Preferences section, located under the "Files" section on the Special:Preferences page.
Can I choose different thumbnail sizes for images displayed in the Gallery of New Images?Yes. Up to 180 pixels in width. Yes. Can I change my time zone to show my local time?Yes. You can adjust plus or minus relative to GMT. Can I change the threshold for stub display (showing a stub tag where there's less text than the threshold I've chosen)?Yes. Setting the threshold for stub display higher than "0" will alter whether a stub is automatically displayed for short articles. Can I customize the number of titles listed in Recent Changes?Yes. The default is 50. Can I customize the Search function within SCIFIPEDIA?Yes. You can specify in which SCIFIPEDIA Namespace you wish to search (or more than one), plus customize the number of hits per page displayed, lines per hit and the context per line.
