Think about it: a corporate wiki that's also a public wiki. That still boggles my mind sometimes. Wikis are about collaborative and public shared effort and corporations don't tend to swim in anything like those waters unless it's for closed memberships yet here we are showing the way and proving that it can be done if there's sufficient will and commitment and determination. I'm probably more a cynic than an idealist but this sometimes gives me chills of pleasure at what we're pioneering here. Come play with us, please. You'll be glad you did.

Fixing links. If you know that you have correctly named the Article you're trying to link to but still find an empty link, it is possible that the Article itself has been mis-named in error by whoever created it originally. Think back to my example of "To Say Nothing of the Dog" If the Article was created with the incorrect title ("To Say Nothing Of the Dog"), then putting the correct title in a link won't reach it. In that case, find the wrong version of the title, and click the "Move" button in the row at the top of the Article. When you do, you'll be sent to a page where you will be presented with a listing of the current title and a box with the same title reproduced in it. You can change the title to the correct form, write a brief explanation of why you're making the change, leave the box checked that moves the Discussion pages along with the Article itself and then click the "Move page" button to finish the job. At this point, if you check back to the Article you created with the link in it, the link should now connect to the correctly-named Article.
Please be certain that you're correct in your name choice before you move an Article. It can always be undone if necessary but it would be better not to make the mistake. It would probably be best to go to the Discussion page of the Article you think is mis-named and suggest the move first before you actually do it.
Today's shout-out
Dan H. This guy is somewhere way up the ladder of techie-dom but he still tunes in to many of the phone meetings. When he does, he cuts through the thickets of misunderstanding and gets right to the heart of who has to solve an issue and take responsibility for reporting back that it's taken care of. Executive action at its finest.
Thought for the day
If we promise not to tell the authority figures that we're having all this fun, they probably won't think they have to tell us to stop doing it and clean up the mess.
