Ruben Jose Uriarte graduated from Cal State University at Hayward with a B.A. degree in Psychology and Latin American Studies, as well as M.A. courses in Public Administration.

He has been a member of MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) for over 20 years as a Field Investigator, Assistant State Director and State Director for Northern California. He has also served as a state coordinator for Crop Circle Phenomena Research International.

He also served as a former research director, guide, and translator for Beyond Boundaries, a company specializing in leading groups of people to various UFO "hotspots" in different parts of the world. He is an OPUS (Organization for Paranormal and Support and Understanding) Boardmember. And, he has been involved with a large network of many other research organizations.

Ruben has been interviewed on many local and national radio shows and television documentaries on the subject of the UFO Phenomenon, such as the History Channel's UFO FILES series- MEXICO'S ROSWELL and UFO HUNTERS and The Learning Channel- Monster Hunters. He is the MUFON liaison with OMIFO, Mexico's unifying investigation organization for UFOs. In 2006, he co-hosted the prestigious Bay Area UFO Expo with Robert Perala.

More recently, Ruben is co-authoring a series of books with Noe Torres about major UFO incidents that have occurred in Texas, Mexico, and the Southwestern U.S.

In 2007 Uriarte and Torres published Mexico's Roswell: The Chihuahua UFO Crash, released by VBW Publishing of College Station, TX.ISBN 9781602640139, which tells the story of an August 1974 UFO crash retrieval along the Texas-Mexico border, near Coyame, Mexico, in the Chihuahuan Desert. Mexico's Roswell received excellent reviews and has been featured on the History Channel's UFO Hunters series, George Noory's Coast to Coast AM, the July 2007 issue of UFO Magazine, the Jerry Pippin Show, Paranormal Radio, and numerous other media outlets in the U.S. and Mexico. Uriarte and Torres lectured about their book at the 2007 UFO Crash Retrieval Conference in Las Vegas, the 2007 Bay Area UFO Expo, the 2007 Roswell UFO Museum Conference, and at many other venues.

Uriarte and Torres have written a second book about UFOs, titled The Other Roswell: UFO Crash on the Texas-Mexico Border, which is tentatively scheduled for release in Winter 2008. It focuses on a 1950s era UFO crash retrieval near Del Rio, Texas. In the book, a retired Air Force pilot tells the amazing tale of a highly luminous UFO that he chased across the skies of Texas before watching it crash near the Rio Grande River.
