Roy Thomas (b. November 22, 1940, Missouri) is a comic book writer and editor. Thomas succeeded Stan Lee as editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics. He is responsible for bringing Conan the Barbarian to American comics. Thomas graduated college in 1961 after studying history and social science. Always a devoted comic book fan, he moved to New York to work with DC Comics but it was just a week later that he took a job as a staff writer at Marvel and later editorial assistant.
