Rose Tyler

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Rose Tyler is a character who appeared regularly on seasons 27 and 28 of the long running series Doctor Who. A shop girl in a London department store, Rose saw her life as dreary and uninteresting. Several encounters with the Doctor, however, quickly convinced her that a more exciting life could be found traveling throughout time and space at his side.

Former teen pop star Billie Piper played Rose as both gutsy and clever in her own way, challenging the sad and bitter exterior the Doctor had acquired after hundreds of years of fighting evil and allowing him to see the universe again with fresh eyes.

Unlike the Doctor's previous traveling companions, Rose had very visible issues with those she left behind and actually managed to entangle the Doctor in a number of those issues. While dallying with the Doctor, she continued to string her inattentive boyfriend, Mickey, along. Moreover, she maintained a close relationship with her humorous gossip of a mother, Jackie, who didn't bother to hide her disapproval of the stranger who kept disappearing with her daughter. Additionally, it was clear that Rose harbored some unresolved issues with her long deceased father Pete.
