Rondo Hatton

<span class="SFPTagline"> From SCIFIPEDIA </span>

Rondo Hatton (April 22, 1894 - February 2, 1946) Monosyllabic American actor (to use the term loosely) who suffered from the disfiguring disease of acromegaly after being exposed to German poison gas in France during the First World War. Universal Studios somewhat tastelessly cast him as a deformed killer in several low budget horror movies, most notably as a character called “The Creeper” in three otherwise unconnected productions: The Pearl of Death (1944), House of Horrors (1946) and The Brute Man (1946). He was also exploited for his looks in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939), The Jungle Captive (1944) and The Spider Woman Strikes Back (1946).
