Ron Rifkin (b. Saul M. Rifkin October 31, 1939) is an American actor born in New York City, New York. He may be best remembered by genre fans for his role on the ABC series Alias as Arvin Sloane. He has also appeared in numerous television series, films, and stage productions.
Rifkin made his Broadway debut in Neil Simon's Come Blow Your Horn and his film debut in The Devil's 8. He made his first genre appearance in the 1972 film Silent Running. Rifkin's work on stage earned him a 1998 Tony Award for best Supporting Actor in the revival of Cabaret. He also appeared in Arthur Miller's Broken Glass and Neil Simon's Proposals. He won an Obie and Dram Desk award for his appearance in the play Substance of Fire in which he portrayed a Holocaust survivor.
Notable film roles include Neil Simon's The Sunshine Boys, Boiler Room, The Majestic, The Sum of All Fears, Dragonfly, and Pulse. He has made numerous appearances on a variety of television series and films. He was a series regular on the short-lived 1975 series When Things Were Rotten and made appearances on Soap, Knots Landing, Falcon Crest, The Trials of Rosie O'Neill, ER, Leaving LA, The Outer Limits, and A Nero Wolfe Mystery. Rifkin currently appears on the ABC the series Brothers and Sisters.
