Ron Ely (June 21, 1938 Hereford, Texas - ) is an American actor.
Ely's career took a giant swing forward when he became television's Tarzan in 1966. Well-muscled and well-spoken, fans see his interpretation as much closer to Edgar Rice Burrough's vision than the Johnny Weissmuller fractured English style. He also played Doc Savage in the George Pal movie.
Ely has continued to make genre appearances, including guesting as Superman in the Superboy series and as Gordon Shaw in a 1990s Tarzan series.
He is also a published author of mysteries.
