Romulans are an alien race in the Star Trek universe. The Romulans are Beta quadrant species related to Vulcans. The species are descendants of Vulcans who rejected Surak's teachings and left Vulcan. The Romulan Star Empire is a vast and powerful one though Romulans are typically xenophobic and not usually prone to making alliances with other races.
