Roddy McDowall (September 17, 1928 – October 3, 1998) was a British child actor and celebrity photographer in Hollywood since 1940.
As a fussy adult performer, his roles often bordered on the bizarre or psychotic in such films as It! (1966), Night Gallery (1969), The Legend of Hell House (1973) and Embryo (1976).
The star of the Planet of the Apes film and TV series (playing various intelligent simians), he also portrayed ham horror host Peter Vincent in the vampire comedies Fright Night (1985) and Fright Night Part 2 (1988).
