Robert Rothman is a fictional character on the series Stargate SG-1 portrayed by Jason Schombing. Rothman is an archaeologist working at Stargate Command under Dr. Daniel Jackson. Rothman first appeared in the episode "Forever in a Day", replacing Jackson after he resigned from the SGC following the death of his wife. Jack O'Neill was not pleased with the replacement and claimed Rothman, a college decathlon champion, had two left feet.

Rothman appeared to be easily frustrated and not as open minded as Daniel. In "Crystal Skull", when Daniel disappeared, Rothman was asked to examine an alien artifact believed to be responsible. Rothman was unable to offer much help or insight.

He last appeared in "The First Ones", on an archaeological dig with Dr. Jackson to the planet P3X-888. Rothman was taken over by a goa'uld symbiote and was shot and killed by O'Neill before he could kill anyone.
