Robert G. Tapert

Robert Gerard Tapert (b. May 14, 1955) is an American film and television producer. Tapert attended Michigan State Universoty to study economics but became to drawn to film, influenced by his roommate's brother, Sam Raimi. The two decided to work together on a film, The Happy Kid, a dark comedy about a vengeful student who guns down those who mistreated him. The modest success of the venture led them to feature films beginning with The Evil Dead directed by Raimi and starring Bruce Campbell. The film was a great success and launched two sequels Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness. Tapert went on to produce several other films and perhaps memorably Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and its spinoff Xena: Warrior Princess which starred wife, Lucy Lawless. Lawless and Tapert have two children, Julius and Judah as well as Lawless' daughter from her previous marriage, Daisy.
