Rob Bottin

Rob Bottin (b. 1959) American make-up effects artist and protégé of Rick Baker. As a teenager he assisted his mentor on Star Wars (1977) and The Incredible Melting Man (1978), before moving on to such New World releases as [[[Piranha]] (1978) and Humanoids from the Deep (1978). Bottin created the werewolf transformations for Joe Dante’s The Howling (1980) and the incredible alien shape-shifter effects for John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982). He won an Academy Award for his work on Total Recall (1990).
