Rick Moranis

Frederick Alan Moranis (b. April 18, 1953) is a Canadian comedic actor well known for his starring roles in such comedic scifi films as Spaceballs, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and Ghostbusters.

Moranis was born in Toronto, Ontario. While in high school, he worked as a radio engineer and later a standup comic and radio deejay under the name Rick Allen. He later joined the Second City comedy troupe and worked for SCTV on the syndicated program, Second City TV. Moranis eventually worked his way into film often rewriting his parts.
