Richard Donner (b. Richard Donald Schwartzberg on April 24, 1930) is an American director and producer best known for having directed 1978's Superman: The Movie starring Christopher Reeve. He is also known for his work on The Omen and the Lethal Weapon film series. Most recently, Donner has recut Superman II to create Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut.
In 2006, Donner also collaborated with Geoff Johns on issues of Action Comics featuring Superman.
