Queen of the Damned is a 2002 film based on the Anne Rice novels The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned. The film centers on Lestat de Lioncourt, played by Stuart Townsend a vampire born in the eighteenth century who becomes twenty-first century rock star. Through his music he reveals ancient secrets about vampires and awakens the vampire Queen, Akasha who wants him to rule by her side as her king.
