Prey was a shortlived TV series created by William Schmidt, a former writer on the series Knight Rider. Prey premiered on ABC in January of 1998 and starred Debra Messing as Dr. Sloan Parker and Adam Storke as Tom Daniels. Larry Drake also played a significant role as Dr. Walter Atwood.

Premise

Dr. Sloan Parker is a bio-anthropologist who discovers a new branch of the human race that differs from Homo Sapiens by 1.6%. She believes they may have evolved as a result of global warming. The new species is smarter, stronger, more violent, and united in their goal to eliminate Homo Sapiens in favor of their own race. A member of the new species, Tom Daniels, becomes her ally as she tries to understand the species and uncover a government conspiracy in the process.
