Predator was a motion picture written by Jim and John Thomas and directed by John McTiernan for 20th Century Fox. Released in 1987, the movie starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jesse Ventura, and Carl Weathers. It also featured Bill Duke, Sonny Landham, Richard Chaves, Elpidia Carrillo, and the late Kevin Peter Hall as the titular character.

The movie takes place in the jungles of central America. Schwarzeneggar leads a team of commandos on a rescue mission, but they soon find themselves fighting for their lives against an other-worldly antagonist. The movie is noteworthy for a high body count, better-than-average action performances by the actors, and ground-breaking special effects. The creature effects were created by Stan Winston, whose Predator became one of the most memorable movie monsters of all time.
