Poltergeist: The Legacy (19961999) was created by Richard Barton Lewis. Poltergeist: The Legacy was a paranormal drama revolving around a secret society known as The Legacy.

Spoiler Warning: Plot details and/or information about the ending follow. If you wish to enjoy the work first, stop reading here and return at another time.

The Legacy was founded in sixth-century England to collect ancient and often dangerous artifacts and to investigate supernatural events. The organization is a large one, with houses in several locations around the world. The San Franciso house, headed by Dr. Derek Rayne (Derek de Lint), is the setting for the series.

Dr. Rayne leads a team consisting of psychiatrist Rachel Corrigan (Helen Shaver); priest Philip Callaghan (Patrick Fitzgerald); former Navy SEAL Nick Boyle (Martin Cummins); Lead Investigator Julia Walker (Jordan Bayne) (pilot movie); and researcher/psychic Alex Moreau (Robbi Chong). The group is known as the Luna Foundation.

The pilot movie shows us how Derek Rayne was given the task of finding five ancient artifacts that, in the wrong hands, could unleash hell on Earth, by releasing fallen angels into our world. He has, over the years, been able to collect all but one. One night, at a party, he has a vision that shows him the final artifact. He gets his team together and they travel to Ireland to find it. Tragedy strikes when one of their own, Julia Walker (played by the lovely Jordan Bayne), is killed in action. The remaining team members, grief stricken but determined, are able to get the artifact and, with a mother and daughter that need their help, return to Angel Island, where their House resides (there are several Houses on the globe that teams reside in, to help fight the forces of darkness). The team then must face their greatest fears when they realize that one of the dark beings was able to impregnate the mother, in order to come into the world and release his breatheren. When he is born, he is in the guise of a son that the mother had lost. He then tests each member in a bid to get the keys that would unlock each of the artifacts (which hold his brethren in), and is able to get each one of them. The team must battle the evil before it takes over, or it's certain death and darkness for all.

It's usually best to give a very general overview to a story first, then plot details. When including the plot or essential details in your article (which could ruin the pleasure of discovery for some readers), it is important to include the spoiler tag before any give-away material.
