Pluto is an astronomical body in our solar system.

It was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh on February 18, 1930. Up until August 24, 2006, it was considered the 9th planet of our solar system. On that date, it was "downgraded" to a newly-created classification of "dwarf planet".

It is thought to be mostly rock and ice. Its orbit causes it to be sometimes within that of Neptune and sometimes outside of it. It has a companion object, Charon, which is considered a moon.
